Hey mate! It’s Pat here, the guy behind the Kapten Boat Collars.
Back in 2009, I was feeling so frustrated with all the instability and broaching I was suffering while trying to enjoy my fishing trips, I thought: there has to be a better way! So I put my head down and designed the Kapten Boat Collar. It’s made out of durable foam, so it's easily custom-fitted for various boat sizes and hull shapes. This way, it's not just a one-size-fits-all gimmick. I wanted every boat to experience the stability it deserves. And after 15 years of happy customers and a Gold Tick award at the Good Design Australia Awards, I can confidently say we've made boating safer and more enjoyable for a lot of people!

PAT JONES
CEO & WORKSHOP MANAGER
Pat's extensive boat knowledge and passion has culminated in the patented design & success of the Boat Collars - and now the Waverider Boats. He's also the adventurous driver in all the test videos. Every time a bad storm rolled in, he'd get excited that it was "good sea trial conditions."
Pat played NRL footy till he was 30, surfed till he was 60 and still supports Qld in the NRL. He also enjoys reading about local history, loves classic cars - particularly Valiants (has done up a few), but these days, he mostly enjoys pottering about the farm and getting on his tractor at every chance.
MEGAN JONES
RECEPTION & FINANCE
Married to Pat, Megan manages the business finances & data entry, and is first in line to respond to enquiries.
As an extrovert who loves hearing customers' stories and learning more about them, she amazes us by remembering customers details and faces years later. If you've got a tale to tell (or a non-fiction book to recommended), she's all ears!
Megan loves gardening - especially picking fresh flowers for the house, a good coffee & a chat on the back deck, cooking Indian and Thai dishes and studying about natural health.
NYOMI JONES
2IC & OFFICE MANAGER
Originally, Nyomi was Pat's off-sider, helping him install and assemble the Collar kits back in 2012. She enjoyed it so much, she started working with her folks full-time. She's taken over the fitting instruction side of things, and now manages the office and the social media, which has lightened the load from Pat.
She's wanting to keep the Collars going, even after Pat & Megan retire, as she's got years of boating history behind her as well.
Nyomi loves a good camp fire, baking for friends and family, and all her farm animals.
